Meal planning makes cooking and grocery shopping that much easier for me. Today I'm going to share with you how I meal plan and what I've planned for this week! Meal Planning Made SimpleI meal plan on Saturday mornings before I go grocery shopping for the week. I start by looking through my cookbooks and recipes and picking out what sounds good for the week and making a list of meals. I use Pinterest too and pin them to a secret board separate from my Food board so that they're easy to find. When making new recipes, I would suggest putting a little star next to the recipe and in the index in the cookbook if it's a good recipe, so that you remember which ones you have tried and like so you don't forget about them! I also have a list in the notes app of my phone with all of the recipes I've starred and which cookbook they're in. And same with the Pinterest recipes: if I've tried one and like it I'll write it on a recipe card so I don't lose it in my Food board. Once I've found all the recipes I would like, I put them in my planner. I always leave a couple days plank since I try to make leftovers. Once you're all done meal planning, it's time to make the grocery list! I shop once a week and only get what I need for that week (plus staples I've run out of such as milk or eggs). I look through my recipes and add anything that I don't already have in the house or on the list. Then I go grocery shopping and get only what's on the list. And that's my simple meal planning routine! Now I'll share with you what I meal planned for this week. What I Planned This WeekI only planned three meals for this week because they'll make lots of leftovers. Roast Chicken and Sweet Potatoes A new recipe I found on Pinterest! I have some sweet potatoes in the house and thought this sounded really good! Ribs with Roasted Carrots I've never done ribs before and they were on sale this week, so this'll be fun to try! Lemon and Rosemary Chicken This recipe is one of the first I tried when I got the Simple and Delicious cookbook and it's really good. If you have this cookbook you should definitely try it out! I hope you enjoyed this post! Do you meal plan? What are some of your favorite meals? Go for it! I'm loving meal planning! I know exactly what I need from the grocery store and I barely even have to think about supper throughout the day since it's already planned. :)
